MARY FRANCES VONBERG

A graduate of the University of Illinois Law School in 1979, Mary Frances vonBerg is an experienced litigator for a broad range of clients and industries. She's worked at the state and appellate levels of the state and federal court systems and has served on the ABA Section of Business Law Subcommittee on both International Developments in Corporate Governance and Corporate Governance Codes.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Transactional
- Principal legal counsel to publicly held companies in broad range of commercial and transactional matters in a variety of industries
- Advise business entities on day-to-day legal issues, including commercial law, management and control issues, employment and consulting relationships, and supply and sourcing agreements
- Participate in development of strategic alliances on behalf of clients, drafting numerous such agreements
- Advise clients on the intellectual property portfolios
- Advise clients on various corporate governance issues
- Represent clients in variety of business transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions
- Represent clients in finance transactions
Litigation
- Handles many types of litigation, including multiparty litigation matters
- Experienced at handling matters at state and appellate levels of both state and federal court systems, and has served as trial and appellate counsel for public companies and small companies
- Adept at assessing the appropriate business responses to litigation
- Handles litigation on behalf of clients engaged in a number of different industries
- Manages and participates in litigation in foreign jurisdictions on behalf of local clients
- Represents creditors with variety of interests in bankruptcy proceedings
